Oxford University Press – The Water Well

21 Nov

Earlier this year I had the pleasure of working with Oxford University Press in the U.K. on their All About Us progam – a six-level primary course for the mainstream segment of Spanish schools. They asked me to illustrate “The Water Well”, a cute story about kids taking initiative, showing compassion and using ingenuity to find a way to raise the water level in a dry well and help some thirsty animals. It features a cute baby hedgehog and a baby meerkat, so what’s not to love? LW_feeding-apple-hedgehog_1000LW_meerkat-following_1000LW_OUP_girl-hedgehog-circle_1000LW_OUP_peeking-over_1000LW_OUP_spots-grid_1000LW_OUP_worried-wading_1000

If you’d like to see more of my illustrations, or if you have a story to tell, hopefully featuring more baby animals, and you need an illustrator – check out my portfolio here.

Thanks! xo

We Are All the Best Chef!

26 Oct

lw_bestchef_yikes_1000Repeat client Yeamoonsa Bien House, an educational publishing house in South Korea, gave me this wacky and adorable story to illustrate. It’s about a restaurant run by animals, and the food is HORRIBLE. Nobody is happy. So, the staff go on a hunt for “The Best Chef”. Each applicant has his or her own specialty (unfortunately the silly quail’s specialty is worms – yuck!), and they all really want to help. In the end, of course the solution is teamwork, and the animals learn that, together, “We are all the BEST CHEF!”

To see more of my anthropomorphic animal art and some more appetizing food art as well, please check out my portfolio. Bon appetit!
